Town of Mashpee is Hiring a Custodian Near Mashpee, MA
The Town of Mashpee Department of Public Works welcomes applications for a full time Custodian, 2nd shift for Mashpee Middle High School; $23.21/hr – $24.12/hr commensurate with qualifications and experience (plus $1.75/hour shift differential pay for second shifts actually worked). This position works 40 hours/week from 3:00pm – 11:30pm, Monday through Friday, except during school vacations, including summer vacation, the position works 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday excluding shift differential pay.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED with demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities; one year of experience in custodial work; or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Must possess a valid MA driver’s license (Class D). Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation.
Responsibilities: Performs semi-skilled manual work involving responsibility for the care and maintenance of public buildings and related equipment. Operates custodial/maintenance equipment. Cleans, disinfects and restocks washrooms, collects and disposes of trash, maintains equipment and performs minor repairs as required. Ensures all buildings are secured before leaving. Frequently lifts objects and moves furniture weighing up to 50 lbs. This position is subject to call out for emergencies after normal working hours.
